1 severe despondency and dejection, typically felt over a period of time and accompanied by feelings of hopelessness and inadequacy.
O my God, I trust, lean on, rely on, and am confident in You. Let me not be put to shame or [my hope in You] be disappointed; let not my enemies triumph over me.
Yes, let none who trust and wait hopefully and look for You be put to shame or be disappointed; let them be ashamed who forsake the right or deal treacherously without cause.
As it is written, Behold I am laying in Zion a Stone that will make men stumble, a Rock that will make them fall; but he who believes in Him [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Him] shall not be put to shame nor be disappointed in his expectations.
The Scripture says, No man who believes in Him [who adheres to, relies on, and trusts in Him] will [ever] be put to shame or be disappointed.
Our focus can create disappointments. Who or what we dwell on daily will determine our focus. Are we focused on who Christ is or who other people are? Are we focused on the circumstances or on the one who creates life.
God has the answers. He knows all. He knows right where you are at. He is working in your life.
And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you.
Disappointment, leads into Discouragement, then moves into Depression.
When you get discouraged you have a divided mind. You can’t focus ; do your best. You dwell on that one thing that is not what you want it to be. A job, a person, or a situation is not what you feel it should be. Daily it consumes you. A lot of times it is because we dwell on the past. Past failures, past relationships, & more.
Continuing in discouragement causes you to make the wrong decisions. It leads to having no hope. We are not of those who have no hope.
Trusting that God is working in you and in your life fights discouragement. It is about who He is, not who you are. It is His goodness, His power, ; His love.
Come out of that discouragement. Make a choice today. Choose to believe God. Seek Him, put away those thoughts and actions that are contrary to His ways.
Do not surrender to your emotions. You do not have to...
Turn to Him, He is with you. He is in control. He will work all things for your good.
Refused to be discouraged. You do not have to give into the circumstances of life. Walk by faith, not by sight or feelings.
Believe God has the ability to change your circumstances or to change you!!!
He loves you!!!
Don’t stay there! Stand up to those feelings! Don’t give into them!
Quote: Len Paxton, “You can still love someone, as a Christian, without receiving their discouragement into your heart and mentality. You must never accept anothers perception of you.... You Must; Must go on with your life. Just because someone makes you feel of no value; doesn't mean you are of no value. They may not accept your new found determination to live your encouragement and value and purpose in God and may accuse you of feelings that are not true. Thats on them... Love them and pray for them but walk consistently with those who encourage and value you.”
