Let Us Go Over To The Other Side

MK 4:35 That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.”

Do you find yourself being tossed to and fro? Every time a storm hits your life, you can’t see beyond the waves. I have been there many times. Let me tell you today the anchor holds. Jesus told his disciples before the storm hit,” let us go to the other side”. He was telling them before they went through it; they were going to make it to the other side.

In Christianity we have many fads that come and go just like the world. Believe me I know, I have tried many in my search for the truth. The sad thing is the merchant is making the money, and you are left broke and destitute. Saints of God, I am here to tell you that the 40 days of purpose, good self esteem, sending good karma/ positive thoughts, or buying an olive tree to plant in Israel, will not set you free. If you are trying these manmade solutions to get to Jesus, perhaps you forgotten that he is right there with you in the storms of life. The disciples fear, gave them a lack of faith in Jesus. even though he was right there in the boat to deliver them, from the storm.

The problem is we get restless in the boat waiting for the storm to pass, and we like the children of Israel begin to murmur and complain. We forsake Christ, and try other methods to make us holy, or atone for our sins. By doing this, we think we can get right with God. Many times we burn ourselves out trying, waiting for something new to keep us going in the faith. Scripture tell us that God forbid that we should glory, save in the cross of Christ. When we follow man’s solutions, we are making the Cross of Christ of none effect. The bible calls it enemies of the cross, any man made solution that exalts itself over the Cross.

In this time, because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. Many have lost their first love, and aloud other things to come first in their lives. Some have even given up and went back to the world. Have we forgotten that only He can satisfy the longing soul? We can’t leave the source and expect to grow in the love, and knowledge of our Lord… The word says our house has to be firmly planted on the rock, or when the storms come we will not be able to stand. Why then are so many offended by the Gospel? The Cross of Christ is a stumbling block, because it’s all about Him. It crucifies every part of flesh, it does not merchandise the goods, it does not glory in man’s ways, and it does not accord with the views elevating the condition of man;

What is the answer to man’s dilemma? The same answer it has always been, but somehow along the way we lost it. God so loved the word that He gave His only son that whomsoever believes in Him shall have eternal life. Many will say “I know He died for my sins”, and have since moved on to something deeper. Friends, this is the deepest revelation we can ever have, It is the greatest act of love ever given to mankind. All of the benefits we receive from the finsihed work of the cross. The idea of the transformation of the old man into a new creation in Christ is very powerful. Just knowing that old things have passed away, and all things become new. You don’t have to be that alcoholic or drug addict, sin no longer has to have dominion over you. He shed his blood so that we could once again be reconciled to God.How grieving it is for anyone to reject this love the father has bestowed upon us through his son.

I am here to testify today, it’s never to late to come back to the Lord. The time is now to lay it all down, repent, forsake all and follow Him. Allow the Holy Sprit the comforter to lead, guide and direct you into all truth. Let the words of God, begin to dwell in you, and change your heart. Let the peace that passes all understanding fill your mind and let the joy of the Lord be your strength. Come and drink freely in the river that never runs dry. The love He has for you is beyond comprehension, all you have to do is receive it.

In this life we will always have storms, trials, tribulations, but if you place your faith in Christ and the finished work of the cross, you will get to the other side. What Christ has given is the way, and through His mercy and grace, we can follow Him. If you find you don’t have the strength, his grace is sufficient. He will carry the lambs in His arms, holding them close to his heart. In all things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.” ( Rom. 8:37)
